Charleston Anniversary Photo Session: Daniel & Rebekah

Daniel and Rebekah were in town for a short visit and wanted to take a few photos on their anniversary trip.  Rainbow Row, iron gates, live oaks and window boxes…it doesn’t get much more Charleston than this session!

Charleston Engagement Photo Session: Brent & Courtney

I’ve known Courtney for a few years now and was excited when she asked me to take engagement photos for her and her fiance, Brent!  We wandered around an area of town where Brent used to live.  One of the photos includes a balcony where they had their first date 🙂  Congratulations, you two!

Andrew & Sarah

Photo sessions with friends are the best!  I met Sarah over 7 years ago after we both moved to Charleston. We are both yankees who found ourselves in Charleston and clicked when we met.  We’ve been roomies and co-workers and at one point both at the same time.  I’m so happy that she and Andrew met and are getting married in September!  Love the way they look at each other in these pics 🙂

Mandy Said “YES!”

Why am I freezing and dressed like a stalker on a boat?  Just being sneaky to capture Matt proposing to Mandy!  Joe was my driver.  Why are his clothes soaked?  While attempting to get on the boat it started “floating away” so he jumped in the water in his nice clothes to get it.  That’s all I know.  Onto more important things… Mandy said YES!GillespieMartinProposalGillespieMartinProposal-1GillespieMartinProposal-3GillespieMartinProposal-2We’ve been spotted!GillespieMartinProposal-4GillespieMartinProposal-6GillespieMartinProposal-9GillespieMartinProposal-8GillespieMartinProposal-7GillespieMartinProposal-10GillespieMartinProposal-12GillespieMartinProposal-13

Kevin & Kelly

Kevin was absolutely dreading this photo shoot.  So, when he asked Kelly and I where he needed to meet us for the shoot… The answer was Community Tapp for a beer (or two) first.  That’s not how I typically start photos shoots but for friends I made an exception – Kelly and I met in Charleston 7 years ago (wow!) and became quick friends.  We’ve kept in touch even though she lives in Greenville now.  Whenever I need to breathe some mountain air I head up to see her so we can hike (after eating a bagel somewhere, of course).  The moment I met Kevin I felt like I had known him for years.  You can feel the love these two have for each other by looking at the photos!  They can’t stop smiling (and that’s not the beer 😉  I am so excited to celebrate with these two in April!

Our first stop was Horizon Records in Greenville.  I was looking forward to doing the shoot in this unique spot!KevinKelly_SM-1KevinKelly_SM-3KevinKelly_SM-4KevinKelly_SM-5KevinKelly_SM-6Next, to the park because I love shooting out in natural light!KevinKelly_SM-7KevinKelly_SM-8KevinKelly_SM-9KevinKelly_SM-10KevinKelly_SM-11KevinKelly_SM-12We couldn’t resist capturing a moment with this couple who were on their own engagement shoot…KevinKelly_SM-13KevinKelly_SM-14KevinKelly_SM-16KevinKelly_SM-17

2014 Year In Review: Taking a Leap of Faith!

Grateful.

That’s how I’m feeling on this New Year’s Eve.  2014 was the year I took a leap of faith and quit my full time job to invest more time in my photography business.  It has been a lot of work but so worth it and I’ve learned a lot.  My clients are the best!  Here are some photos from the entire year – some are new and some you’ve seen before.

I worked with a  few businesses/organizations and took photos for their websites.

Here are a few engagement sessions that I did this year.  These are always so funny because if the guys are honest, they are usually super uncomfortable with me taking photos of their PDA’s… but then they realize it’s not so bad 😉Boulware-2 BrownEngagement-1 engagement Harter-1 Harter-2 i Shawn&Heather-2

All of these maternity shoots are with first time parents.  I just love how these mama’s are glowing!  I’m noticing now how popular stripes were…  MurdaughMaternity-1 n RainsMaternity-1 WaggonerMaternity-1

Shawn & Heather

I instantly loved this couple the moment I met them at Starbucks to discuss the details of their engagement shoot.  Shawn and Heather are so genuine and joyful and just fun to be with.  So glad a mutual friend got us together!  You can easily see how excited they are to get married… AND the beauty of our city, Charleston!
