So I didn’t take many photos with my fancy schmancy camera on this most recent trip, so there are a few iPhone photos below! Sometimes on vacation I have to just put the camera away and be in the moment 🙂 Mandy, Janie and I decided to head to Austin, TX to watch Liz run the Austin marathon – so proud of her!
We flew into Dallas to visit friends before heading to Austin and found this yummy place for breakfast! We’d keep Oddfellows in business if they ever opened in Charleston.
Yes, we’re waiting for this sweet shop to open. Mandy was on a mission to get some chocolate-y goodness from Dude, Sweet Chocolate. And she almost had a stroke at the airport when TSA flagged her suitcase on our return flight. She must have flirted with the TSA officer because he let her though 🙂 I would highly recommend the Tub of Love Spread.
At the Elephant Room for a glass of wine and some jazz music
While Liz is busy running 26.2 miles, we are drinking coffee and eating breakfast burritos. We’re good friends.
Found a fun coffee shop, Halcyon, that was playing throwbacks from Boys II Men and Brandy, perhaps because it was Valentine’s day?
Valentine’s Day in Austin! And we did, in fact, get breakfast tacos from a place called “Juan in a Million” which included bars on the windows.
So proud of Liz for running the Austin marathon (And then pushing through to go out for dinner and drinks on Rainey Street!) It was so inspiring to watch people of all ages push through the pain and run those 26 miles. I may or may not have teared up once or twice! I’m not saying I’ll ever run one, just that it was inspiring to watch others run 😉
I never eat doughnuts but felt it was appropriate to pick one up at VooDoo Doughnut on 6th Street.
Our last meal of our vacation was BBQ at the Micklethwait food truck. We walked about 35 minutes for it and it was worth it!
I think this is a fitting last photo. Keep Austin Weird! Until we meet again…
